If you know how to test websites, devices and browsers to make sure they are fit for purpose and you fancy a bit of a step up in responsibility levels THIS could be the opportunity for you.

We’re exclusively recruiting for an eCommerce company based near to Altrincham. It’s a great location, close to motorway links, there’s a tram stop within a hop, skip and a jump of the office, free parking on site within 100 metres of the front door and really good local public transport links.

Now could not be a better time to get involved with this company, there’s been a few changes and additions to the senior management team which has really strengthened the business. They’ve recognised that one of the most important elements of an eCommerce business is the software and systems running it. This is why they have heavily invested into this area and continue to do so. After analysing what they had and what they needed new tech has been brought in and there’s been a few additions to the team to support their future plans and workloads, this includes a Business Analyst, two new senior level developers and now we need a manual software tester which is hopefully where you come in!

There’s one other tester in the company and you would both work closely with four senior developers, a BA and a software support specialist. At the moment they know they need to improve their test environment, they are keen to do regression testing more effectively and put a test strategy and model in place. This is where you can really take the reins, we’re looking for a tester with an interest in taking a step up and improving their current set up.

The must have skills for this one are: 

ISEB/ISTQB qualification

Basic SQL/SQL querying skills

Regression testing experience

A basic understanding of HTTP and web/mobile technologies

In the next 6 months or so they are looking to move to more of an automated test environment. You’ll very much be involved in the implementation of this and it is a seriously good opportunity to develop your automation testing skills and learn on the job. They want someone to lead the way on this front and will provide training and all the resources you would need to do so. Prior automation experience isn’t necessary but a desire to learn about it and then implement it is!

They’ve got a long list of projects lined up for 2019, including moving to the Cloud, they are going to use Azure and are looking to move towards a continuous integration environment. They are also going to be looking at their international offering and improving their current mobile experience. You’ll be working on these projects and testing all back office tools.
