I am currently recruiting for a digital and marketing agency based in Manchester, they’re an indispensable tech and marketing partner for businesses across the UK. They are not your typical agency, what makes them different is that they’re not just about developing websites, they work on a wide range of web development projects, from custom CRM builds and client Intranets built in Laravel, through to simple five page website builds using WordPress. As a company they develop bespoke web and software solutions for clients to help solve problems across their businesses.
They get a lot of digitisation projects through the door, one of their most recent projects was for a finance department who had a really complex, paper-based trail to track their accounts. This agency came up with a solution, they built an intranet so everyone could log in and built a system which allowed them to request payments, create and send invoices and pay suppliers etc. It sped up the workflow dramatically and meant they didn’t rely on bits of paper – which often got lost!
They’ve also just done another project for a building supplier where they built a mobile app in Ionic. The app is now used on site to complete inspections and it transfers the findings and reports back to a backend system for storage. This client has now asked them to build a QR scanner and code printer. The idea is, once the inspection has been done, a QR code will be printed out and placed somewhere in the building. They can then return, scan it, and see all the results from the previous inspection. Super interesting project to get involved in and one that could see you learn highly sought-after Ionic coding language.
What you will be doing…
You’ll be largely working on the WordPress side starting with four big build projects, the rest of team is made up of Ionic and Laravel specialists so you’ll get the chance to dabble in these projects too and gradually build up your experience if that’s something you’d like to do!
You will be responsible for the delivery, maintenance and support of a wide range of quirky WordPress websites, lots of custom themes, plug-ins and functionality will be involved. One of the first projects you’ll be building is a brand new eCommerce site for a cosmetics company, the future plan for this project includes the development of a Ionic mobile application that will allow customers to scan their faces and see the potential results the cosmetics company could offer. This is quite an original project that is going to be huge and would be great to add to your CV – augmented reality will be used here so it’s a fantastic opportunity to play around and get some experience in that!
