Technical SEO Manager – York/Harrogate - Up To £40,000

Based midway between York and Harrogate, this is an in-house, hands on Technical SEO role and the first big project you will be working on is a site migration. You will be looking at rankings and traffic and setting a brand new SEO strategy.

The company have built a brand new website and they are looking for you to assist with the transition of current keyword positions and traffic from the old site to the new one. You will be working alongside the development team to ensure that all links are transferred correctly as well as ensuring all content is keyword rich and rankings for this aren’t affected. 

Reporting directly into the Head of Marketing, this role will see you working to maintain the new website following the site migration and domain change. It will be your responsibility to set the full organic strategy for the business and conduct analysis of competitor websites to ensure continuity of search rankings. This is a very technical role, where you will get full assistance in learning and mastering any new technologies needed in a quick and efficient manner, this includes working alongside the PPC manager to become fully proficient with optimise existing PPC campaigns.

Day To Day Responsibilities

  • Analysis of web traffic
  • Monitoring and updating website backlinks
  • Identifying new target keywords
  • Completing site audits and competitor site analysis
  • Basic PPC campaign optimisation
  • Heatmap creation
  • Revenue analysis and ROI calculation


Skills Required

  • A strong level of Technical SEO experience
  • Knowledge of a variety of technical SEO tools including Screaming Frog, Hotjar, Powersuite and Google Analytics.
  • Knowledge of web development tools and practices
  • A basic understanding of optimising PPC campaigns
