Technical Lead

The Headlines:

Joining a rather large IT team in a great location in the centre of Manchester, we’re looking for a Technical Lead who can both manage and develop a team of developers, act as Scrum Master and plan and estimate all projects. Ideally you’ll be from a coding background and have moved to a more hands-off role where you still look over code every now and then and have a passion for all things Agile!

The Role:

• Estimate and schedule development work
• Manage each project and all deliverables alongside the PMO team
• Allocate work in line with your teams’ abilities
• Scrum Master – Sprint planning, chairing and hosting stand ups
• Line management and development of a team of 4/5 developers
• Management of project teams – developers, testers, architects
• Implementing and encouraging best practice
• Working closely with internal stakeholders and business teams
• Code reviews and mentoring

Projects:

• Moving the company’s main website in house and taking control of it moving forward
• Improve the ‘application process’ section of their website
• 3^rd party software and infrastructure integrations
• Continuous integration
• BAU changes

Technical Skills Required:

• Coding skills – all languages considered
• Agile - Scrum or Kanban (Scrum Master experience desired)
• Cloud – AWS or Azure
• Full SDLC experience – including architecture, SOA, micro-services etc.
• Passion for Best Practice

Bringing the website and application site in house has been on the cards for a while and this is now a chance to take ownership over that project. Joining three other Technical Leads, you’ll be driving the business forward, improving processes and working to develop a number of fantastic applications.
