We have a fantastic opportunity with an award-winning and innovative group based in Macclesfield. Due to rapid growth they are looking to add an experienced PHP Developer to work on large, high functionality, in-house platforms built in CodeIgniter. As a company they use cutting edge data techniques and proprietary technologies to deliver market leading solutions.

They are now operating in 3 different continents and are wanting to scale up even more. They are always looking to improve the software they use and platforms they’ve built, which is at the forefront of everything they do.

They are massive believers in continued growth and development which is reflective in their career development programmes. They offer in-house development workshops and the opportunity to receive funded external training which will see you picking up new qualifications. Last year for example a member of the development team was given the opportunity to pick up a new coding language and given the time to study it during work then went on to gain a qualification for it.

What you’ll be doing?

You’ll be part of a team of 5 working for one of the companies in the group and your focus will be on the company’s front end websites and internal web-based systems and platform. The big project you will be working on is the company’s large in-house platform, which they are looking to re-engineer and add several new functionalities to so they can open new channels within the business!

The platform now has a legacy code base which they are looking to optimise, to do so they will implement new and scalable code to the backend, add new features on the frontend which will use elements of UX and open the development of new areas within the frontend interface.

You’ll also be tasked with refactoring elements of the backend infrastructure in PHP to allow new features to be added to the existing platform to create a smoother user journey. That is just the tip of the projects they have lined up now and with plans for growth they may be rolling out more platform rebuilds across the group!
