The words ‘full stack’ are bandied about here, there and everywhere at the moment, companies want full stack developers and developers want to be full stack. If the later is where you’re at, I’ve got an opportunity right here for you to become exactly that.
We’re looking for the perfect person to join a lovely agency based in a great spot in between Bradford and Leeds. They’re a short walk from a train station and also offer parking on site – it could be quite attractive for someone who’s sick of city centre traffic and high parking costs!
These guys are a specialist agency with a certain niche – if you’re in this niche, this is the agency you go to if you want a web application building.
This is where the full stack element comes into it, they build big, high functionality websites used by millions of end customers up and down the UK. They work closely with clients to suss out exactly what they want and need the website to do then they build them exactly that. It’s massive, end to end builds for names you will know. The chances are you will use or will have already used one of the systems you’ll be building, everyone generally does at least once a year! They are built in PHP7, Laravel and Bootstrap, occasionally they use CodeIgnitor, alongside a range of other techs.
To start with you’ll be given work which best suits your skill set/experience and gradually you will pick up experience in all other areas to make you full stack. More backend weighted for example but have a basic to good level of frontend skills? Great, come and join the team and learn Bootstrap, SASS, React etc. Once you’ve got a bit of practice under your belt you’ll then take responsibility for entire projects.
We need someone with prior experience in:
- PHP
- Laravel or OOPHP or Framework Experience
- MySQL or SQL
- JavaScript/Bootstrap
- HTML/CSS
Their tech stack includes: NodeJS, React, VueJS, ECMAScript6, Mongo, Docker, SASS, Gulp, JSON and WebPack plus many more – this gives you an idea of the skills you’ll be picking up to become ‘full stack’.
The team and the environment here is great, it’s a very flat structure with everyone really enjoying the work they are doing. A big plus point is that the company are big advocates of home working, they really promote it and see the benefits of it. They offer two days a week remote working to allow you to get a bit of quiet time to really focus - and to save on commuting!
