As a developer, when you begin considering career options what do you look for in a role?
Some developers look specifically for flexibility and remote work, many change jobs to work on more exciting projects, and others for training and progression opportunities.
Very rarely do you find all three incentives together. However, the role I’m advertising without a doubt ticks those three boxes - and in style. It’s with a company who are fast becoming the most well-established agency in York, with one of the most successful of client bases in the region.
Joining a large and close-knit team of other developers, you will work on a series of large scale projects for companies ranging in size. You will work on a variety of bespoke sites and applications with some of the most cutting-edge tech around. You will work with the most up to date versions of PHP, Laravel, and many more - making sure in an industry that changes rapidly, you will stay on top of new trends and techniques.
There is a huge amount of variation in the projects you will work on due to their diverse client base, from large finance organisations, science and research companies as well as providing eCommerce solutions for many well-known retailers. One example of a project of theirs includes developing a system which helped an international finance organisation enable the management and comparison of data from 50 different websites.
To be successful in the role you will need the following skills:
· OO PHP
· HTML5, CSS3, LESS
· API development
· MVC – Ideally Laravel
This agency has doubled in size and shows no sign of slowing down! If you’re keen to find a role where you have access to training programs, career development schemes as well as work for an incredibly well-respected agency then this is the position you’ve been waiting on!
They’re looking for an additional developer due to the high influx of new work - they need as many hands-on deck as possible. All they want in return is for you to be ambitious, enthusiastic and help build on the positive working environment they’ve worked hard to create.
