This is an exciting one-off opportunity for an experienced JavaScript developer to steer the development of a huge and successful digital platform. From day one you will be the one who decides which JavaScript technologies to use and how to use them. While there is enough frontend experience to get by, given the scale of the project they are undertaking, they want to bring in a specialised role to focus solely on the frontend. With the growth they are expecting in the company, this role will be a fantastic opportunity to progress into a lead developer.
The company is rebuilding their ever growing and successful digital platform with the latest technologies and they want someone with the JavaScript know-how to take ownership and responsibility for the frontend. You will be steering the frontend development from day one as a specialist JavaScript developer in almost consultant-like role. Here you will lead the discussion about what JavaScript technologies to use, such as Vue or React and how they can be best implemented for this massive rebuild.
You must be comfortable reverse-engineering the existing platform’s frontend and be able to migrate it into clearer and isolated components following proper naming conventions. They want someone who can lay down a strong foundation in the development of a brand new codebase.
Alongside this big greenfield migration, you will be designing and implementing the frontend for side projects such as a broadcasting panel which will act as an interface for live broadcasting and will accommodate for things such as multiple webcam feeds, dial in participants and live mixing of video files.
You will also be handling most, if not all, of the frontend of a new admin site which is having all existing management functionality ported across to it.
